An entrepreneur, aviator, and philanthropist based in Bellingham, Washington, Grace Borsari is the founder and former president of Altair Advanced Industries, Inc., a company that developed backup power systems for the cable TV, broadband, and communications sectors. Under her direction, Altair supplied products that helped maintain communication networks during power outages and supported broadband growth across North America. Grace Borsari was also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Whatcom Business Alliance in 2019.
Originally from Bern, Switzerland, Ms. Borsari began her career as a photographer before moving to Canada and later the United States. She founded Altair in 1978 and managed its operations for several decades before selling the company. Today, she continues to own and lease the commercial properties formerly used by Altair. In addition to her business experience, Ms. Borsari serves on the board of the Innovative Resource Center, a nonprofit focused on supporting early-stage entrepreneurs, and remains interested in renewable energy and sustainable technology.
Outside her professional work, Grace Borsari is a licensed pilot and regularly participates in aviation events, including flying her helicopter at the CZBB Boundary Bay Airport annual airshow. She also pursues photography, travel, and education-related philanthropy, with a particular focus on creating scholarship opportunities for women in technical fields.
